The design phase runs 1-2 months and covers your consultation, space measurements, 3D renderings, and material selection at our McLean showroom. We’ll give you a specific construction timeline during that phase based on the scope of your project.

Cost depends on the size of the bathroom, the fixtures and finishes you select, and whether any structural or layout changes are needed. A powder room refresh will fall at a different price point than a full primary bathroom transformation. We provide a fixed-rate quote with all costs confirmed upfront after the design phase is complete.

A fixed-rate contract means the price we quote is the price you pay. Many contractors use “allowances,” which are placeholder amounts in the contract for items like tile or vanities that you’ll select later. This frequently leads to cost increases mid-project. We select every material and finish before construction begins, so there are no surprises.

For most bathroom projects, you can remain in your home during construction. If you have a second bathroom, we sequence work to keep it accessible as long as possible. We protect all unaffected areas with barriers and sheeting, and the crew performs daily cleanup at the end of each workday. Our project manager keeps you informed throughout so you always know what to expect the next day.

Yes. Boss Design Center obtains and manages all required permits for every project, including building, plumbing, and electrical permits. You don’t need to contact Fairfax County, Arlington County, or any other local office. We handle all permit applications, inspections, and approvals as part of our standard process. This is included in your project scope, not treated as an add-on.

The design phase includes a free initial consultation, detailed measurements of your space, photorealistic 3D renderings, and material selection guidance at our McLean showroom. Your designer works through revisions with you until the design reflects exactly what you want before we finalize the contract.

Because we select every detail during the design phase, mid-construction changes are rare. If you want to adjust something or add scope after construction begins, we’ll document it in a change order with updated cost and timeline information. This is the exception rather than the norm in our projects.

Yes. Your designer remains involved from the first consultation through the final walkthrough. This is a core part of how we work. The person who created your design, selected materials with you, and understands every decision behind the project stays available throughout construction. You’re not explaining your preferences to a new project manager mid-build. One designer, start to finish.

Structural work carries a 5-year warranty from project completion. All other work, including finishes, fixtures, cabinetry, tile, and plumbing installation, is covered for 1 year. Many products also carry manufacturer warranties that may extend beyond our coverage, particularly fixtures and appliances. We provide all applicable warranty documentation at project completion so you have everything in one place.
